GoDaddy – Changing your IP address on your Domain Account

Step 1 – login to your account on GoDaddy

Step 2 – Highlight Domain – a drop down menu will appear click My Domains, a new window opens.

Step 3 – in the list of domains (if more than one) click the one you need to edit

Step 4 – Click on Total DNS toward the bottom of the page

Step  5 -  you’re going to change the IP Address, so click on the top line where it says A Record and to the right click Edit, enter 72.45.221.222 in the IP address field replacing the old IP Address and save.

Please note: changing your IP address normally takes between 15-20 minutes, however, it can take up to 48 hours to replicate all the DNS servers throughout the world. It’s during this time that you may notice that your website and or email may have erratic behavior or may not work at all during this process.
